US President Donald Trump has said that the state of Israel and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to normalize the relationship.
Mr Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed al-Nahyan said they hoped the US statement would "promote the publication of peace in the Middle East".
As a result, they said, Israel would suspend its contradictory plans in the attacked West Bank.
So far Israel has not had political relations with Gulf Arab countries.
However, shared concerns about Iran’s regional influence led to an exchange of illicit information between them.
