ISLAMABAD: The High Court has fixed for hearing appeals against the convictions of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar in the Avonfield reference.
The Islamabad High Court has also fixed for hearing appeals against the convictions of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz andNJ Captain Safdar in the Avonfield reference. A two-member special bench headed by Justice Amir Farooq will hear the appeals on September 1 while Azizia Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's appeal in the reference is already scheduled for hearing on September 1.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar are out on bail after the suspension, while the last hearing on the appeals was held on September 19, 2018.
It should be noted that the accountability court had sentenced Nawaz Sharif to 10 years imprisonment, Maryam Nawaz to 7 years imprisonment and Captain Safdar to one year imprisonment in Avonfield reference on July 6, 2018. However, the High Court suspended the sentence on September 19, 2018. The apex court had on January 13, 2019 dismissed the NAB appeal.
